A/C switch does not stay lit

When you hold down the button, the A/C comes on, but only if you hold the button down.
2006 subaru legacy
Is this a matter of replacing the switch or possibly something more?

ok if thats the case try and get the wires to the a/c checked out wouldn't hurt to get the a/c unit checked as well also if the button doesn't stay lit tell them to replace the blub behind the button usually wiring in certain subaru's fail after alot of use
