I think the question didn't have enough detail to answer it properly. To diagnose a coolant leak, you have to find where it is leaking obviously. If you can't find it by looking on top of the engine or below, a cooling system pressure test should be performed. That way you will find the leak much faster and make a repair. Good Luck.

I little background. How would I not know that the car had a leak I I didn't SEE the water pouring out? Water and coolant have a way of traveling around your elbow to get to your thumb, thus the visual approach will not give a proper diagnosis. As I stated, not trying to be an A$$, If I can't fill the coolant reservior with water or coolant and know to look for a telltale sign, I shouldn't be asking questions...period. Therefore I am not a dumba$$. I was hoping that some of you guys with great expertise would give a proper answer such as TDolby's answer. I was told that you guys are the best, and that you guys were very helpful. So I gave you guys a try. I never thought that the cream of the crop mechanics and home shop mechanics would give an answer that equates to, "I don't know what your level of mechanical ability is, so how could I answer your question type of response." The last thing I wanted to do was waste any of you guys time. I'll try locally, thanks again
