Question type: Maintenance & Repair

hi, I have a 1995 sl2 saturn with a 5 speed transmission.  I just replaced the transmission and now the engine will not start.  I didn't remove the engine and I have double check all of my connections.   I have fuel pressure and if I put gas in the intake it will fire.  The transmission has 106,000 miles on it and is from s 1996 sc1.   help i don't know what else to try.

Hi Robbert. Sometimes it helps to have a checklist to go through so you don't miss something simple. Here's a no-start troubleshooting guide to help you eliminate some possibilities ... Hope it helps. Good luck! http://www.samarins.com/diagnose/index.html

If your connections are good then you should check out the started on the engine. It's located on the backside of the block (between the engine and the bulkhead aka firewall). I uploaded a picture of what it looks like. You can get a low quality starter at Napa auto parts for $50, or get a good quality (comparable to and OEM starter) for about $100. Just a suggestion.
