Fuel pump died?

Asked by KaylaAnnie22 Sep 02, 2017 at 01:27 PM about the 2003 Saturn L-Series 4 Dr LW200 Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving my 2003 Saturn LW200 on the freeway
with cruise control on when I tried to speed up the
RPMS  revved up and the car stopped responding
to my foot on the gas pedal. It started acting like i
was driving a manual transmission and couldn't get
it into gear, that's the best way I can describe how it
was acting. When I got to the side of the road it
sputtered for a few seconds then died. I'm trying to
figure out what might be the issue. I got no warning
lights during  or after the problem. Could it be my
fuel pump? I checked my fuse and that was fine, so
it not that.
