Can I and is it easy to replace bench with captain chairs in 2001 Yukon XL?

Asked by xvanusx Apr 10, 2012 at 09:16 AM about the 2001 GMC Yukon XL 1500 SLT

Question type: Car Customization

I have just bought a 2001 GM Yukon Xl SLT. It has the 2nd row bench, but am wondering if it is possible to put in the captain chairs. If I can, is it an easy process of unbolting and bolting or is there more too it. Also, do the captain chairs fold forward to give you that extra "bed" space if needed?

Thank you!

I'm looking to do the same thing, but have captains chairs and want to switch to a bench. Did you find out if you can swap easily? Oh and they fold up easily to create more space.

You have to use Yukon XL or suburban seats to match, Yukon or Tahoe are not the same. I learned the hard way. I have gray leather yukon bench seat for sale or swap for yukon xl bench seat.

I'm interested in sourcing two captain's chairs (black) to replace the current 2nd row bench seat (also black). Besides finding a counterparty to swap with or the local salvage yards, are there any other options I should be investigating? Thanks in advance (Suburban, BTW)!
