What's that whining noise?

Asked by spass Feb 18, 2012 at 07:44 PM about the 2006 Kia Spectra Spectra5

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

5 months ago, I had the timing belt and water pump replaced. Recently, an intermittent, high pitched whining sound has started, seemingly from the water pump area. The water pump was replaced last week. Now the sound is back. The car has been running perfectly. Any ideas as to what the noise could be? This is getting costly!
