why is my 2006 kia sedona not accelerating

My 2006 kia sedona would not feed gas to the engine when I pressed the accelerator to the floor, but it would idle.

my 2005 kia sorento would not accelerate or down shift. We disconnected the one battery cable, let it sit for 10 minutes reconnected the battery cable an it reset the transmission shifting. Do not use the autoshift for upto 250 miles.
