Most new vehicles by any manufacturer have electronically-controlled transmissions, so I would not worry about that. As far as the radio, I would say you should be OK, although you might want to check out www.carsurvey.org to get an idea of potential problems with the ML350. The key to MB ownership has always been that, if you can afford the vehicle, you can afford the repairs. A lot of folks dig themselves into a hole by overextending to buy the MB they've always wanted, but when the first big repair bill comes along, they are out of cash. And remember, ANY repair on an MB is going to be expensive...I did an alternator last year (2007) on a 1991 MB 300E and the repair parts & labor totalled over $1100.

depending on the options...it really varies but i'll list them for you and the common fixes 1: tailgate not opening all the or locking down fix: turn off tailgate limiter/replace tailgate motor/spray WD40 on lock hinges 2: car won't start fix: turn off cabin lighting or reduce cabin light timer/use higher octane fuel because CHEAP premium fuel can still clog injectors and fuel pumps/replace battery/check ignition senory module/oil changes more frequently rather than 12000 miles do it 6000 3: seat contuor doesn't adjust fix: replace air pump motor 4: sudden decellartion fix: don't touch the down shit paddle shifter behind the steering wheel!!!furthermore, adjust downhill descent to off 5: grinding noise from engine or tranny fix: any noise from the engine or tranny is bad...bring to to the dealer

Everything has gone wrong with mine. Tranmission is a joke. MB can't even find out what is wrong with it---until out of warrenty and then failed total loss for $7,900. I have owned 3 mercedes NEVER AGAIN.

Most MB,s are fun to own and drive. But the old adage that you do not want to own a MB that has no warranty is very true. In general, it costs $1000 just to drive into the MB garage.
