Asked by Jameshopkins73 Aug 25, 2020 at 08:21 PM about the 2007 Jeep Compass Sport 4WD

Question type: General

2007 jeep compass with a 5 speed transmission.
Drives and shifts fine going straight, but once I
turn it sounds like the front end is being torn out
from underneath it, wheel will lock up as well. Got
one guy telling me its the transmission....... any
advice? Please!  Thanks.

I would say to have a decent mechanic inspect the axle shafts, the CV joints might be worn. If the boots are ripped, it's time for new ones. The grease leaks out and without grease you get binding and noise. Also have them look at the ball joints and tie rod ends.
