I have a 2007 Acura TL Type S. It was used as a commuter car for most of the time and has over 180%2C000 miles on it. I went to start it the other morning and it would not start %28nothing happened. interior lights didn%27t turn on. no clicking sound. nothing%29. My boyfriend thought it was the battery%2C so he bought a new one and the car worked fine for the remainder of the day. The following morning the car wouldn%27t start. I don%27t know what the problem is %28if it%27s a fuse%2C something draining the battery%2C etc%29. He called his regular mechanic who told him to unplug the alternator to see if maybe that was draining the batter and that didn%27t solve the problem. Any idea what it might be%3F He refuses to just take it in to have it looked at%2C and I%27m without a car. HELP%21

Honestly, I have no idea.. I know I sound like a complete idiot when answering this, but cars are way out my league. We brought it to a mechanic today, who after being told we checked fuses, disconnected the alternator, etc. advised us to bring it to the Acura dealership. He suggested possibly an actuator or something with the security system. Any idea what getting this diagnosed and fixed would cost? I'm not sure if it's really worth putting a ton of money into fixing. As I said it's a 2007 with almost 190,000 miles on it. Am I better off getting rid of this car and purchasing a new vehicle?

I had the same problem. After doing some research on forums, found that it is the HandsFreeLink (your bluetooth). It keeps drianing the battery. I asked the dealer to disengage it permanently (dont use bluetooth anyways) and the problem never came back in past 2 years.

Time to bite the bullet and bring it to an Acura dealer.

Get a prob meter and start check for high voltage and do you have anything that has been put on your car that's aftermarket like a radio or black lights cuz it sounds like something is hard wired in somewhere

It's the Hands Free Link (HFL) which is your bluetooth. Have the module disconnected and the problem will go away. It is located up by your sunroof switch.

IS FINE .GET A FRIEND TO START CAR AT THE MOMENT IF VOLTS AR READING BELOW 9 VOLTS YOUR BATTERY IS GONE WILL NOT HOLD COLD START MAX BATTERIES TODAY LAST 4.5 TO 5.5 YRS!!
