As long as the engine in the 01' is a V6 also, otherwise you would have to change out the computer and wiring harness, motor mounts and such to make it mount up and run.

Just put the 4l60e that goes in it and be done w it. Or what ever l platform gearbox that will take desired abuse. Highly recomend monster transmissions.
