Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I hace a 2000 volvo s70 it has 205,523 miles on it. I
was driving down the road one afternoon and
stopped at a red light. As I turned to the right at the
lightThe  car acted like it didn't want to go very well
and tge up arrow started flashing. It shifted up thru
the gears untill it got to 3rd then wouldn't up shift
or down shift. And would just start slowing down
acted like it went into neutral. Would just rev and
rev till I had to stop. Then I would pull over and
start the car and it would go again untill 3rd gear
tge neutral feeling again. So I replaced the pnp
switch and erased the codes fired up the  car, and
tge up arrow is still blinking and it's in limp mode.
The codes I keep getting are p1618 and p0705 and
evap vent valve code as well. Could someone help
me with this I'm puzzled.

If your car is non-turbo, you have the infamous AW55 transmission, and your transmission is likely dead. I would post this on a forum like Swedespeed or Matthews Volvo Site. These are very common problems with this transmission. It would probably also be a good idea to get the car scanned by a shop with VIDA, or of course the Volvo dealer. That P1618 code is a generic code, meaning there are Volvo-specific codes present.
