Motor swap from 04 maxima to 06 350z

Asked by GuruHM9Y5 Aug 08, 2019 at 05:29 PM about the 2006 Nissan 350Z Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 06 Nissan 350 z. It has a recent blown
head gasket. I paid 5000$ for it 2 months ago. I’m
trying find my best options to take a the least cost
as I’ve already lost on this purchase. I’d like to
know can I put a 04 maxima motor into my 06 350
z. Or would it be best to exchange my motor for
another 06 nissan 350z motor rebuilt, aftermarket,
or otherwise. Just looking to find my best and
lowest priced option to take.

I would suggest swapping out the headgasket would be best, to swap a motor you need to buy it and factor in the cost of a qualified technician to swap it out. a headgasket change including a head skim you could probably get sorted for 500 bucks

Do you know a qualified maintenance shop that I could get a head skim and gasket replaced at a fair price? I live in Texas, Dallas Fort Worth area. That would be a great help.
