Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Miata is idleing high and eratic. It is my first experience with this car and I don't have a clue as to all the bells and whistles under the hood. Could you please explain and show all the screws and parts involved with adjusting the idle speed on the 1994 1.8cc engine?
Thank you very much for the help you can give.

The idle on this vehicle is not adjustable in the sense that traditional carbureted vehicles were in years ago. The timing is automatically set by the PCM based on input received from the various sensors located in the engine and transmission. I suggest you have a full diagnostic done on it at a dealership, as you may have a problem with your throttle position sensor, MAF sensor, or even possibly a vacuum leak or other problem.
