Steering column replacment

Question type: General

I have a broken key in my ignition switch the steering
wheel is locked so I am having to replace the hole steering
column the one I ordered has a key with it so when it gets
here can I just plug everything up after I put it back
together and my car start or do I have to do something in
order to drive my car agian

You need to program the new ignition to the car. Can't you just replace the broken ignition and purchase a new switch and ley and do the same programming without replacing the whole column?
