have you taken it to your parts store yet to have the codes read?they will usually do that for free.my experience with check engine lights usually ends up being a bad egr valve, bad o2 sensor,or a simple fix of a loose or bad gas cap.hope this helps!

Gas cap tightened on? Happened with my 03 if I ever got full service gas. Also, if it did go on randomly it would go off after a few starts.

I have recently had that same problem. I would unscrew the gas cap and then replace it and make sure it is on tight and secure. The light went off. I think I need a new cap, but when I do that it works!

Catalytic converter cleaner worked on shutting off my check engine light. O2 sensors were throwing the code. Can get the cleaner at auto zone for $25
