just changed oil. put 6 qts of synthetic oil in. keep getting the "engine short 1
qt warning" .
how much oil goes in at oil change for 2001 mercedes c240 v6?

2004 c240 takes 7.9 and the 4matic model takes. 7.4 ( this is straight out of manual

2001 Mercedes Benz C240,V6 engine takes 8 qrts of oil (or 7.5 L).But when you do oil change you MUST pour in 7.9 arts or 7.4 liters because when engine gets hot oil level goes over the maximum( 8 qrts) and activates the oil level sensor (that reads: "reduce oil level").In order to avoid it you MUST pour in 7.9 qrts or 7.4 liters (which is little bit less then maximum).
