I have 98' Dodge Ram 1500  has a 5.2 liter V8 it's 2
wheel drive,  had a used tranny dropped in it,  it
wasn't good, should've had mine rebuilt.
Want to get it right this round.
What is the recommended or preffered
transmission  I should look for?

Get a factory reman but note. In my opinion these transmissions were defective when they came off the line so a used one is a roll of the dice
