All of the 96-2002 second gen dodges share a 46RE transmission that is identical as far as internals go. 318 V8 powered trucks come with a lower stall speed torque converter than 360 V8 powered trucks. A 99 may or may not work depending on when the transmission was built dodge switched its communications system around this time and subsequently the electrical connections changed.
