Can I remove my cat converter and still pass emissions?

Asked by AK_Tim97 Sep 18, 2019 at 03:46 PM about the 1997 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie SLT Club Cab 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 1997 ram 1500 4x4 v8 with 2 o2 sensors.

And I was wondering if I can just chop the cat off
the exhaust without it singing my check engine
light or causing me to fail emissions since I live in
Missouri.

Ask a smog tech in Missouri. You do know there is No benefit from removing cats and that the CEL will always be on?
