Trying to find out what my 1500 wont start Ram

I have a Ram 1500 every time I turn the car
over it won't start but the gauges go up but
the oil gauge don't but the oil light shows
and a battery was dead but I choose to dup
with another car battery and the gauge is
reading find on there I'm wondering why it
sounds like I'm not getting any fire what
should I check for first

HUMMMMM.DOES IT START WITH THE / A GOOD BATTERY...??

I think I'm going to just try and get a new battery tomorrow and put it in and see what it do but when I put a charge on to the battery and the car the gauge read over halfway even though the battery was dead you still think I need a new battery
