Check engine light

Asked by GuruBS15T Jan 01, 2019 at 10:21 AM about the 2004 Ford F-150 Lariat Ext. Cab

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When my 2004 f150 CEL came on my scanner
showed lean bank 1 and 2. I am a DIY mechanic so
I changed all vacuum lines, complete tune up:
plugs, egnition coils, new throttle body, new
injectors, new oxygen sensors. Light came on
again, with same codes. I can clear the codes and
the light stays off as long as I am driving, two trips
of 145 miles. If I turn off engine and restart after
several minutes the CEL comes on after 3 to 8
miles. Please help me, this thing is driving me
crazy.

Check fuel pressure and volume, have you changed the fuel filter? Is it the original fuel pump?

If you use the 87 octane gas all the start using 93 and 94 octane gas head same problem changed oxygen sensor light came back on started using the higher octane gas now it took 10 tank fills and light going off and coming on 4 times but now light is out and stays out if you are in a hurry for light to go out you can try using a converter cleaner like cataclean read some good and bad reviews but mostly positive.
