Just guessing you increased 250, 300 hp. I hope you thought of putting in a heavy duty torque converter for the trany, to handle the extra hp.

Crankshaft increase from 3.5 to 4.5? Are you sure? 450 hp at the crank which would be about 360 to the rear wheels depending on the tune up.

Ok thise was my assumption as well at about 400HP. the specs were recomennded by Summit Racing products which is where a lot of the internatls were purchased from. Also to answer the question about the transmission it was pulled and new torq installed as well a a street II performance kit to handle the extra power. Since I haven't even reached a full break in point yet I have no idea where it will end up in the end once everything settles in to place after the mods. I will post a picture once the paint has been wet sanded cleared and buffed again. I would love to here comments back on if those following this like love or hate what has been done. Oh 1 other thing it does have a modified suspension with sport springs on the front lowering it by 2 inches and a shackle kit on the rear lowering it 3.5 inches which leveled he truck but doesn't put it on the ground. all the lighting has been changed to LEDs and the dash is now a digital holographic screen with gauges that appear to float. kind a funky futuristic add on that I could not resist doing. it has upgraded shocks and steering is all new. So it handles like a high end sports car but yet is still a very usable truck. has a rear roll pan with a hidden receiver hitch behind the license plate to pull my modified boat to the lake when driving on land just isn't enough. I say fast on land and fast on the water the only place I still want to go next is in the air but afraid that has past and gone. spent to much of my retirement on the truck and boat and a house for the little women. Thanks again for your responses it made me feel much better about the investment into this truck.

In my opinion 4.5" stroke is too much. Are you sure it was 4.5"? That requires a custom crank that is offset ground. Also what is the compression ratio? What is the cylinder head combustion chamber volume? What type of pistons? Rocker arms?

To be honest the speed shop that has been working the engine over is the one that recommended the specs .entioned so I really still need to confirm. I do know the rebuilt was referred to as a stroker kit and I do know thst the heads were modified and the compression ratio is 9.5 to1. The pistons rods and crank were all made to match the intended performance. So I can't fully answer your questions as entirely but Im into the motor work alone close to 15K and the trans rebuild to handle the performance about 4500.00 and I am still bleeding money into it for an upgrade braking system with slotted and drill disks and larger in size and performace calipers etc. All I can say cor sure is this is not a daily driver vehicle when done but will be a sreet slort truck for the occasional night out with the wife and attend a few shows ezch year.

Glad an engine shop is doing it for you. Post some pictures when you get it done.

Just got word they will perform all break in as they want to make sure when it is delivered Im not breaking it in incorrectly. They are on the 3rd oil change now and have 1 more to go after running it before I will get it back. The shop its at sold off their dyno and downsized to just a few guys when Vegas opened the speedway and his partner move to vegas and took 5 of their techs with him. So the closest dyno is in Vegas as the once regional dragstrip here closed and most of the good shops moved to Vegas. This shop has been building hot rods and racing performance for 25 years and has a good reputation. I think Im in good hands. The truck has been in a shop both mechanical and body for nearly 2 years. So its time for it to come home soon.
