Asked by Guru95XYZR Jan 03, 2021 at 03:36 PM about the 1990 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat 4WD SB

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 1990 F150 with a 302 and a five speed and
it is four-wheel-drive one morning I come out in the
truck will not start I put a new fuel pump on it even
though the old one was not bad.  I put a distributor
cap and rotor on it with new wires and spark plugs I
have fuel spark and compression but still no start I
have reset timing twice.  before this happened the
truck was acting like it was not getting enough gas
at times would never cut off but it would bog down
giving it gas do y’all know things I could try to fix
this I have also tried another distributor from a
running motor and still nothing the truck Will barely
try to crank when you first start but the rest the time
will not

Make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good. If it cranks good, but, won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Check fuel injector pulse. Check applicable trouble codes. Those are the basic checks, in my opinion.
