Question type: General

Hello I recently got a 2001 Ford Super Duty F-250 Crew cab Lariat V10 (Gas) truck and it has a knob on dash to put the truck in high 4wd, low 4wd and 2wd. Im new to the truck game and I am curious on how i can tell if my 4wd is working. When I turn it to 4wd i hear a click but are the hubs supposed to turn or not? Mine dont turn I only hear a click as if they are engaging. how can I tell if the 4wd is working? Please help me out if you can. Thank you in advance.

Well my will be a redneck answer. Drive onto some grass or dirt, stop and put it into 4wd. Then jump on the gas and then stop. Get out of the truck and see what tires dug in.
