My wife has a 1996 Toyota Corolla.  I want to convert it to a Ford or Chevy small block, with real wheel drive, and automatic trans, because she can't drive a stick DARN.  Any ideas on how to get this done :)

That would be a HUGE overtaking. I would search around the net to see anyone has attempted this or something similar. At least you would be able to get information on what works and what doesn't. You would be talking about a huge amount of fabrication just to get the engine and tranny mounted. Not to mention if it would even fit.. Honestly IMO It would be less time and money just to get into something else.

you would do better trying to convert it to an import v6 and keep front drive. that would be easier.
