Question type: Car Customization

I am curious as to what size engine my
1990 Toyota Corolla DX can hold. I know a
1.6L is stock but what is the biggest that
will fit?

With enough money Jay Leno could fit a Merlin V12 in it.

Ya but Jay Leno is well funded! David Freiburger can put anything in anything with nothing!

I was waiting for his response but I'll throw out the actual answer just to prove a point.... Dayn forget about putting a bigger motor in there is a much better way if you're looking for more power, it's called the Toyota 4age. It will bolt right on your transmission (or gearbox) but you may need to move the upper motor mounts (not TOO hard with some power tools, a welder and some basic fabrication skills) and youll want the wiring harness and ecu (some wiring will be required). I recommend the Redtop 4age, it's only 125hp but it'll pull hard all the way to 7000rpms and it has a TON of aftermarket support

Yes with no modifications. I was mainly trying to see if a 1.8 liter would fit in it because I want to pop it a celica engine in it

It's more work than its worth, the 4age would be an amazing improvement over your 4afe
