Engine running rough with check engine light on

It can be many things that will make your engine running rough. Since the CEL is on, you know there are codes stored. I would scan the car for the trouble codes to find out which sensor is detecting a problem and as to why the engine is running rough. Borrow an OBDii scanner , purchase one, have a mechanic do it, or have an auto part store scan for free. Post the 4 digit codes back here for more help.
