Toyota Camry break lights

My husband accidentally crossed the neg
and pos battery cables so now my break
lights will not come on. We changed the
tail light fuse and still nothing. The light
bulbs wasn't a issue prior to battery
change. What can we do besides taning
the car to a dealer lol
We're not trying to be cheap but money is
kinda low.
