My car wont start

I have a 06 impala lt im tryna make a brief as
possible  i ran out of gas to trying to get to the
store got the gas ok went the where i was tryna go
went to ger back in the car it would not start i
found out the starter  was bad brought a new one
the car started for a lil the stop what else could be
the problem  cause  im thinking fuel pump now i
can someone help me  out please

Fuel pump. But first google where your fuel pump shut off switch is at. The car has a safety feature that flips it off at certian times
