Subaru Outback 2005 XT Engine replacement

Asked by Torin Mar 11, 2020 at 09:46 AM about the 2005 Subaru Outback 2.5 XT Limited Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey yall,my 2005 Outback XT recently lost the turbo, folks at the dealership
are telling me that two of the fins have broken and been sucked into the
intake. I am inquiring if I would be able to replace the turbo charged engine
with a normal engine. Sounds like a Frankenstein long shot, but figured it'd
be worth digging around. I am very attached to the vehicle and would hate to
spend the same amount on a new one instead of repairing the present.
Cheers!
