2001 Subaru Legacy Wagon with 180k miles needs new clutch. Worth it to fix?

Asked by ellegreens Mar 25, 2016 at 01:49 AM about the 2001 Subaru Legacy L Wagon AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The new clutch is estimated at just under $1,300. I know subarus are known
to last a long time, but $1,300 seems like a pretty good amount for a down
payment on a newer used car instead of replacing clutch on this one.. We
have put over $1,200 into the car in repairs in the last year alone. New front
brake system, replaced u-joint/drive shaft, and fixed a minor gas leak.

Is it worth it to fix this car or should we just get rid of it and move on to a car
with less miles?
