supercharger can I take off a cobalt ss 2.0 and drive it normally?

It started wheezing and not boosting anymore driving like a granny wondering if I could take it off and drive it normally "if that works" cause its gonna be a few before I can get another one

You can but my guess it's the belt there belt driven straight there always spinning check along the belt if it going smoothly well it's running and look at the pulleys see if any are bent or wobbly if it's not visible check which one is whinny and its probably just a pulley then when it's a pulley it goes to give it boost but It can't be because it needs to start spinning up but its dragging.
