Subaru legacy starts and dies

I have a 93 Subaru Legacy Sedan FWD with about 215K on it. It's worked will, had a few
things replaced, but now it will start and then promptly die with a very loud crashing noise
when it dies. I'm wondering if it's worth it to keep throwing money at the car for more
repairs or to start looking at a new car.
