Is a 225/60/16 to wide for the 2000 impreza

The 225 is definitely not too wide, but the 60 instead of 55 may be tall enough to rub the shock tower. Try one, but I'd be satisfied with 225/55R16, as it handles better too. Do you need the extra ground clearance? Then maybe go 215/60, but that's only about 1/4" taller.
