Battery good, alternator good, battery light on

Asked by Corifulton Mar 01, 2014 at 02:47 PM about the 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car has stopped working 3 times, battery and alternator tested.  It started on a jump but all the dashboard gages were flickering and did not register, all connectors are clean and tight.

Double check all connections sounds like one is loose. Also check the negative battery cable connections on the frame and motor.

If starts on a jump it is most likely a connection problem. If cable ends are drawn all the way together and there is no more room to tighten them then they are bad and need to be replaced. When connections are fully tight and good you should still have some room left to tighten them some more.
