I have a 1995 cutlass supreme convertible.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 95 cutlass supreme convertible. I
wanna put the top down but I’m worried the switch
or motor might be bad. Will I be able to put the top
back up manually if I have to ??

Yes. Moving it manually is no problem other than the fact that its quite heavy and may require a second person to help you. I have done it many times with a car exactly like yours that I bought for parts. Before trying to run it you might want to check the fluid level. The pump is behind the rear passenger seat. It's actually a pretty simple system so unless something has happened to the car, like a flood, there's really no reason why it shouldn't work. If its been parked a long time you might do it gradually... open it part way then close again then open it a bit further and close again. If all is well then go for it and open it all the way. Looks like a very nice car by the way. I hope you're enjoying it. I love mine.
