HELP...car dies while driving and now wont start

I WAS DRIVING MY ECLIPSE HEARD A  WHIZZING TYPE SOUND, THEN
TURNED THE CORNER AND IT DIED AND WONT START. TURNS OVER
BUT WONT START. CHECKED ALL FUSES, HAS FUEL,SMELL OFF
EXHAUST A LITTLE SOMETIMES

I have no way to take it anywhere. I am have very little funds. I recently relocated and trying start a new life after divorce. I have only had the car less then a year and have been able to do all the work myself or trade. I need my car so i can look for work. The car is getting fuel, check plug for fuel. Iys also getting spark. And took the timing belt cover off and belt looks fine.
