Need to drop steering column for dash panel removal

I don't know your specific car but on most Ford/Lincolns there are 4 bolts holding the steering column to a bracket on the dash. Be sure you park with the wheels straight and don't turn the steering wheel when lowering it. Just undo any dash trim panels to uncover the bolts and remove them. I believe there is 1 screw going through steering column bracket into the dash. You shouldn't have to do anything more to the steering column to remove the dash.
