1993 Lincoln Town car, no brake lights but other lights work, and fuel pump gauge not working.

Asked by joecosta40 Apr 23, 2016 at 04:29 PM about the 1993 Lincoln Town Car Signature

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I lost the brake lights on my Town car, and another issue is that my fuel
gauge isn't reading correctly. With the brake lights, only the brake lights do
not work. My hazards, reverse, and turn signal all work. I'm stumped with
the brake lights. Now the fuel gauge situation is weird. Because I've
replaced the fuel pump and I still have the issue. Even if I put a full tank of
gas in, the gauge on the instrument cluster still reads empty. Any ideas? All
help is useful, thank you.

On the brake lights, sounds like the brake switch on the brake pedal is bad, and the fuel gauge either the wire is broke, or the sending unit itself is bad.

Well it would more than likely be back toward or at the sending unit. No stupid questions when it comes to this stuff.
