I have a 2004 Lexus RX 330 with the electronically modulated air suspension and 198,000 miles on the original rear struts. Can I install normal struts and disconnect the air system?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The struts are only available thru a dealer for $900.00 each.  Can I install
normal struts for this vehicle and disconnect the air system without it negatively
affecting the vehicle?  I can get the standard struts for $125.00 each.

No- you bought it that way, you wanted it that way and now that you find what it costs to fix it, you want to bail- didn't you see this coming?

Okay, I will have mercy on you- even with your first-world problems- YES I have heard of this being done- why am I being nice today?

Thanks for the great info. I am trying to save as much as I can, but i plan on keeping this machine. Is it possible to just do the rears and disengage the air system. I already have the rear struts (w/o air). The fronts still seem good.
