I am having the same issue with my 98 4.0 inline six as well. Starts up, runs rough for few seconds and dies back out. Brand new battery, and terminals, Brand new crank shaft position sensor, just bought but haven't yet replaced the fuel pump and new filter. Has spark, it's gettin gas, fuses and relays appear to be okay, everything appears fine, plugs and wires look brand new. Probably gonna double check em later on, but other than kinda dirty everything from the wire to the sensors look good. Don't wanna have to drop the tank (cause i don't wanna put a hole in my trunk) and do all that work and have it not work... Any suggestions? Fuel pump turns on and sounds like it's supposed to sound, and reads correctly but acts like it's starving for gas. Can't push the gas down cause it dies out faster. I bought it one day, and the next day went to go drive it and that happened.. Can't afford much more parts into this thing.
