What causes surging?

When I’m driving my 2000 GMC Yukon XL... it
seems to surge when on the highway. Is this a
tuneup issue or what?  Thank you.

Thank you for your answer. I don’t have any warning lights or codes showing up. I’ll check the sensors. Transmission isn’t making any sounds. I’m just looking for General things to look for.
