I have a ECU question

I have a A4 2003 with a 3.0  cabrlet. The scaner
said bad ECU so I got one of of a A4 2003 with the
1.8 t . Would are the ECU the same and would it
work?

They may or may not be the same part, but the programming will certainly not be the same for the 2 different sized engines. Getting it reprogrammed may be expensive and it may not even be possible. Try tp locate the proper part for your vehicle.

Just notice you answered me back Bob. I found the same car as mine only difference was the color . Mine is gold the parts car is blue. But anyway I replaced the ECU then the immobilizer light came on and car wouldn't start so I changed out the whole streering calum so the key and immobilizer box would match the ECU . I have a scarnner made for Audi's and V.W. my question is to I need to change out Vin numbers now ? So it would match the car also? Or am I makeing it worser cuz the lights comes on the dash but still won't start. I really don't know what I'm doing. Lol and I have no extra cash to take it to a shop.
