Chevy fuel system/starting

Asked by N8chevy Jul 26, 2018 at 11:17 AM about the 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 Work Truck 4WD Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Chevy 1500 and when ever I go to
start the truck the motor just keeps turning over but
once I try to start it a few times it’s starts and runs
fine. I think it has something to do with fuel. Is there
a reset on the fuel? Or maybe my fuel pump has a
short in it

Had the same problem with a 2009 Dodge Ram after it sits a few days without being cranked. Try pressing on the accelerator before turning the key and see if this will help.

Well I do that but it doesn’t do much and doesn’t fix the problem. And when I talked to a mechanic he said it’s cause the fuel pump but the people I bought it from replaced it at 60,000 miles and it only has 90,000 now
