Turns over won't start

Asked by Scott Mar 31, 2018 at 05:39 PM about the 1998 GMC Sierra 1500 C1500 SLE Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 98 gmc Sierra with the 5.7 vortec. Truck
didn't run when I got it.  I found no spark at the
plugs so I replaced the cam sensor in the
distributor and now I have spark.  Still no start. If I
put carb cleaner or gas in the throttle body it will
run but die out right away.  New fuel filter and I
have fuel to the Schrader valve.  I don't have a
pressure gauge though so unsure of exact
pressure.
