Car won't drive it was going in gear until it was parked now won't go into gear

my husband and I were driving down the
road yesterday and missed our turn when he
stopped and backed up and the car wouldn't
didn't want to drive. It would go in gear until
we parked it now won't gear either. We only
owned it for a month .

if it has drum brakes in the rear they may have locked up on you , bang on the inside of the rear rim and see if that frees things up . A shift cable may have decided to give out at that time by coincidence who knows ?
