Drop oil pressure & cut off

Asked by Guru95J17F Jan 21, 2021 at 01:09 PM about the 1999 GMC Savana Cargo G1500 Cargo Van

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Sometimes it’ll run a few days no problem,
then we will be going down the street it’ll start
with a light skip, all pressure drop to bottom,
and engine dies. Give it a little while and if you
just spin spin spin spin it’ll pick up and start.

I don't know what type of oil pump you have but it sounds like it is failing after 20 years.
