Rhythmic thumping sound in dash

I have a rhythmic thumping sound in my
dash. It sound like something is loose on a
wheel and keeps swinging.

Does it increase and decrease with the speed you are driving? If so stop now and look under your vehicle. Could have a very unsafe condition.

Coming from the dash? A speedometer cable, or perhaps the fan blower - something might have fallen into the plenum and bouncing off the birdcage. Those are just guesses based on the limited info in your question, however.
