the speedometer shoots all over the place, it happened last winter- had no problem all spring, summer, and fall now is acting up again.

aalso the oil gauge is off the gauge it is way over 80.  Have talked to a friend that owns GMC also they had the same problem.  have brought my car to the shop a very expenive repair any ideas why this keeps happening?

Sounds like the cold is messing with the speedo, although I wouldn't see why -- this is an electronically controlled speedometer. Best option is to replace the cluster as when these units fail, it is usually a gradually worsening problem and eventually the speedo won't work. The same could be the case with your oil pressure gauge. You might try replacing the pressure sending unit in the engine block and see if that corrects the issue.
